Who is Light Up The Palace?

Formed by a group of local residents in 2023, Light Up The Palace is now a community interest company (CIC) set up to manage festive events and fundraise for Christmas lighting in Crystal Palace, including our very special and sparkly town centre tree.

Light Up The Palace is managed by hardworking volunteers and supported by kind local traders, sponsors and residents through fundraising campaigns. Our first crowdfunder sponsored 36 new lamppost motifs stretching all around the Triangle, it was an incredible achievement and thanks to Croydon Council, these are stored, tested, put up, and taken down each year for free.

We also aim to fund heritage and community projects in our area, for example, the restoration of the wrought iron railings belonging to the Victorian toilets on Church Road in 2025. This area is an important central hub for many of our activities and celebrations at Christmas time, supported by its own specially installed community power facility.

Through innovative fundraising events and with the support of our wonderful community, including residents, traders, local businesses and stakeholders, we aim to bring festive cheer to the Triangle

every year.

If you would like to volunteer and help raise awareness for our campaign and fundraising activities,

please email us at hello@lightupthepalace.org

Crowdfunding campaign 2025

With your help, our 2025 fundraiser will add a beautiful new Christmas tree and festive switch-on events in the town centre area.

Money raised will pay to power all our festive lights around the Triangle, including tree and lamp post motifs, and also cover the restoration work for the beautiful historic iron railings on Church Road.

Here's what we do
